Established by D. Gary Young 21 years ago, Young Living has always been guided by the principles of the quality production process we call Seed to Seal. This proprietary process guarantees the purity and authenticity of our essential oils - from the premium seeds that are carefully planted to the moment we seal their precious essential oils in UV-protective amber glass.
Seed to Seal also provides Young Living a way to monitor the production of every essential oil they offer, from the farm to the finished bottle. Respected partner growers work exclusively with Young Living and pledge to adhere strictly to our Seed to Seal process, where qualified representatives closely monitor the distillation, quality, and authenticity of the botanicals and the oils they provide. The Seed to Seal stamp is a guarantee that our partner farms and cooperative farms have met the stringent quality requirements that have made Young Living the world leader in essential oils.
St. Maries, Idaho
Lavender, Melissa, and Tansy
In 1992, Young Living founder D. Gary Young purchased 200 acres of pristine farmland that had never been cultivated or subjected to chemicals, pesticides, or fertilizers of any kind. The pure soil and climate make St. Maries an ideal location for growing lavender, melissa, and tansy.
Lavender, Hyssop, Clary Sage, Peppermint, Goldenrod, German Chamomile, and More
At nearly 1,600 acres, our Mona, Utah farm is home to the largest privately owned essential oil distillery in the world. Many different plants are harvested here for both our members and for botanical research.
Highland Flats, Naples, Idaho
Balsam Fir, Western Red Cedar, Pine, and Idaho Blue Spruce
The site of both the Winter Harvest and Spring Replanting events, the scenic Highland Flats Tree Farm is where members are able to experience our Seed to Seal process firsthand. The farm grows and distills Idaho balsam fir, Western red cedar, pine, and Idaho blue spruce and is the home of the world's first fully automated, state-of-the-art distillery.
Fort Nelson, British Columbia, Canada
Black Spruce, Ledum, and More
Following extensive scouting and research for the best possible location, Young Living purchased the Northern Lights farm in 2014. This farm is already a major source of Black Spruce essential oil, an important oil in many popular blends.
Lavender, Lavandin, Rosemary, and Clary Sage
Known for its rolling hills and farms of fragrant lavender in the Provence region of France, our Simiane-la-Rotonde farm is the only American owned lavender farm in the country. This scenic location grows lavender, lavandin, rosemary, and clary sage.
Eucalyptus Blue, Dorado Azul, Ylang Ylang, Ocotea, and More
Since 2005, the Ecuador farm has cultivated and distilled eucalyptus blue, dorado azul, zaragosa, lemongrass, rosa morta, oregano, ylang ylang, basil, and many more unique botanicals. The Ecuador farm's state-of-the-art distillery is one of the largest in South America.
Sacred Frankincense (Boswellia sacra)
Since 2010, Young Living has partnered with local Omani harvesters to obtain and secure our supply of Sacred Frankincense resin. Young Living is the first and only company in the world to obtain permission to distill and export this precious essential oil and bring it into the Western world.
Croatia is home to a wide variety of aromatic plants. It not only is an ideal location for growing helichrysum but also many other crops that will be processed at our newest distillery, found right on this beautiful farm. This facility will be a fully functioning distillery and distribution center.
Australia Partner Farm
Established in 1994 and located in Australia's Northern Territory on the northern coast, the Young Living Darwin farm is our oldest cooperative farm. We have worked closely with owner Vince Collins for nearly 15 years to harvest and distill our distinctive Blue Cypress essential oil.
Israel Cooperative Farm
Balm of Gilead
Just a 25-minute drive from Jerusalem, the Young Living Israel Cooperative Farm is where Gary Young met entrepreneur Guy Erlich, who cultivates 8,000 Balm of Gilead (Commiphora gileadensis) trees. This farm is the first large-scale commercial plantation site in the world for this historical aromatic treasure.
Taiwan Cooperative Farm
Hong Kuai, Xiang Mao, and Jade Lemon
In 2011, when Gary Young flew to the island of Taiwan to explore its native plants, he began a friendship with Gin S. Lee, PhD, and acclaimed agriculturalist, and his son Tiger Lee, a young engineer. The father-son duo oversee the distillation of exotic hong kuai and xiang mao, as well as the cold-press production of jade lemon oil.
Dubai and Somaliland Cooperative Farms
Frankincense (Boswellia carterii and Boswellia frereana)
A three-generation family business owned by farmer Hassan Saleh, the Young Living Dubai and Somaliland partner farms provide Young Living crucial Boswellia carterii and Boswellia frereana. At the Somaliland farm, frankincense resin is collected and sent to the Dubai farm to be distilled. Running six days a week distilling Frankincense essential oil exclusively for Young Living, the Dubai farm has rebuilt their distillery to fully meet our exacting Seed to Seal Standards.
Besides our own farms, Young Living partially owns many others around the world in partnership with independent growers. Our partners agree to adhere strictly to our Seed to Seal process and are carefully vetted for compliance. Through our partner farms, Young Living is able to support local independent farming while maintaining our absolute commitment to quality.
We also source many of our essential oils from co-op farms around the world. These respected growers work exclusively with Young Living and pledge to adhere strictly to our Seed to Seal process. As an investor in these farms, we closely monitor the quality and authenticity of the botanicals and the oils they provide.
We also purchase many of our essential oils from a variety of global vendors whose suppliers abide by our stringent, demanding Seed to Seal process. We rigorously and thoroughly test the essential oils provided by these vendors.
